Assistant Wedding Coordinator
Contract / As-Needed | Weekend Availability Required
We are seeking a reliable, upbeat, and hard-working Assistant Wedding Coordinator to join our team and support weddings on event days. No prior wedding or event experience is required — we’re looking for the right personality and work ethic, not a résumé full of weddings.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys helping others, and takes pride in being dependable and detail-oriented.
What You’ll Do
As an Assistant Wedding Coordinator, you’ll support the lead coordinator in making wedding days run smoothly. Responsibilities may include:
Assisting with ceremony and reception setup
Helping manage timelines and transitions throughout the day
Working with vendors, wedding parties, and venue staff
Running errands and handling last-minute needs
Assisting with behind-the-scenes content capture for our social media
Helping pack up personal items and décor at the end of the night
Being a calm, positive presence behind the scenes

You do not need wedding or event experience — training will be provided. You do need to be:

Hard worker — you tackle tasks enthusiastically and proactively
Team player — you are supportive, adaptable, and work easily with others
Strong attention to detail — you notice the little things, follow instructions carefully, and take pride in helping everything come together smoothly behind the scenes.
Willingness to learn — event days can be unpredictable, and you’re ready to adapt with poise
Customer service experience is a plus — whether in hospitality, retail, food service, or another people-focused role. Experience interacting with clients, families, or guests in a professional and friendly manner is especially valuable on wedding days.
Requirements
Weekend availability (most weddings are Saturdays; some rehearsals on Friday evenings)
Comfortable being on your feet for several hours
Ability to lift, carry, and move décor (up to ~30 lbs)
Strong verbal communication and a service-oriented mindset
Reliable transportation to wedding venues across North Carolina. (Most events take place within a 60-mile radius of our base in Durham, NC. Weddings outside of this standard service area may be eligible for mileage or travel reimbursement.)
